Welcome to our new Speech therapistTaylor Harbaugh! Taylor is joining Mrs. Morra with the speech students at Smithton School. Taylor is a graduate of SEMO with her Bachelors Degree and SIU with her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. She most recently spent 4 years at Sparta Lincoln School before making her way to Smithton. In her spare time Taylor enjoys reading, going on walks, and watching her favorite sports teams - St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Blues, and Texas A&M college softball. She enjoys giving pitching lessons to youth softball pitchers & loves going on Jeep rides with her family. Taylor is currently resides in Freeburg with her boyfriend. Taylor is excited to work at Smithton to join the Speech-Language Pathology team with Mrs. Morra and meet her new speech students!

The Smithton School Office is CLOSED Monday, July 1st through Friday, July 5th. We will reopen for regular Monday through Thursday (8 am to 2 pm) hours on Monday, July 8th.
Welcome Jr. High Math Teacher Sydney Denison! Sydney is a graduate of McKendree University. She most recently student taught 7th Grade Math at Waterloo Jr. High before making her way to Smithton. In her spare time Sydney enjoys watching tv series, going to concerts & traveling. Sydney is engaged to be married in May 2025! Sydney is excited to work at Smithton to join a small community and make great connections!

Our Pre-K and Early Childhood Classes celebrated today with an Honors Celebration at Smithton Park. Each student was recognized being the wonderful little humans that they are. We are elated to see how successful our first year of Pre-K and EC at Smithton School was. We can't wait to see what these kiddos do next! It's off to Kindergarten for many of them! Ms . Nichols, Ms. Flake , Ms. Wilson & Ms. Parker are so proud of each of them.

Mrs. Carter hosted two visiting artists in her art classroom yesterday. Artists Nick and Melissa Bossenbroek are showing/selling their artwork at the annual Art on the Square event in Belleville this weekend. Students learned how the artists create their work and how the process of participating in art festivals works. Nick is a nature photographer and Melissa is a scratchboard artist. Pre-K had so much fun at Mommy & Me Day, celebrating with our Mommy's and Maw Maws! We painted Mommy Pots together, and then spent some time pampering our guests with mud masks, shoulder and arm massages! We also shared some refreshments with cucumber water and 'mock'tails, and some mommy's even stayed for lunch! A big thank you to the Geoppo/Toennies Family for providing Papa Vito's for our mom's to enjoy!
