When positions become available, the district accepts applications from qualified individuals. Those wishing to be considered for a current opening should complete the appropriate application form available on this page. The district does not maintain a file of unsolicited resumes or applications.

Substitute Teachers

Smithton Elementary School is always seeking substitutes. The hours vary from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, as needed.

Interested individuals should must possess an Illinois Substitute License or Illinois Professional Educator License. For more information on a substitute license, please visit ISBE's Substitute License Requirements.

You should also begin the process of having your name approved on the Master Sub List with the Regional Office of Education 50 (ROE 50). Once approved, you will need to complete a Teacher Substitute packet from the District Office.

Our current teacher substitute rate is $105.00 per day.

Substitute Paraprofessionals

Interested individuals just possess and Illinois Paraprofessional License (or a Professional Educator License). For more information on acquiring a paraprofessional license, please visit ISBE's Paraprofessional Educator License Requirements. Once license is obtained, you will need to complete a Non-Certified Substitute packet from the District Office.

Our current paraprofessional substitute rate is $100.00 per day.

The Smithton Community Consolidated School District #130 serves approximately 550 Pre-K through 8th Grade students in a town of 4,000 residents.
